Matt Sanborn
(Full
Bio)
Trying to establish
yourself in an
unfamiliar city can be a
daunting task,
especially in the
nightlife industry. The
stiff competition,
heartbreaking setbacks,
and fickle patrons is
enough to discourage
most people, but now and
then there are
exceptions to this
trend. Matt Sanborn is a
prime example of
persistence and
perseverance that seems
to be paying off.

Bioteknik
(Full
Bio)
From funky
breaks all the way to nu
skool dirtiness, Bioteknik
drops tight beats. He was
driven to breaks a few years
back after being an avid
drum and bass fan, yet still
couldn?t deny his love for
some funky house sounds. It
seemed like the only logical
step and his love for the
music only has grown
stronger since. |

Kirkout
(Full
Bio)
The beginning
is simple: 1985, a dual
cassette boombox, blank
tapes and the infamous Lady
B's "Street Beat" Sunday
afternoon Hip Hop radio
program on Philadelphia's
Power 99 FM. At a young age
Kirkout found an escape in
music. The creation of mix
tapes was his first attempt
to reach out to friends,
family and whoever else
would listen. His desire: to
expose them to under
appreciated styles of music. |

Ray Kang
(Full
Bio)
Ever since he can remember,
Ray Kang has always had a
passion for music while
growing up in San Francisco.
His parents gave him his
first set of headphones with
a built in a.m. radio in the
first grade. He brought them
to “show and tell” but
classmates teased him
because they made him look
like an airplane traffic
director standing on the
tarmac. Needless to say, he
never wore them outside of
the house again. |

Walker
Robinson
(Full
Bio)
One year ago,
Walker Robinson stepped
behind the decks armed only
with a golden ear and a
diverse crate. After a
bangin' set that
incorporated progressive and
breaks, he was named 3rd
Place in the Stellar Battle
of the DJ's. Not too bad for
his first gig. |

Ken Lazee
(Full
Bio)
If you take a handful of
soul, a dash of disco, and a
heavy sprinkling of funk you
get one of Washington DC's
finest House DJs: Ken Lazee.
A dedicated supporter of the
dance community Ken can be
found as much behind the
scenes as behind the decks,
helping our underground
network of music lovers do
what they want most: dance. |

BassMachine
(Full
Bio)
BassMachine's interest in
EDM music started with mix
tapes circa 1996. Heavily
influenced by the sounds of
Jungle from Dj Trace, SS,
Dieselboy, Ed Rush, Zinc,
Source Direct, and others,
prompted BassMachine into
buying records and
purchasing a set of Technics
to start mixing. During the
next few years BassMachine
moved from Old Skool and
started mixing harder and
faster. |

Section 8
(Matt Sanborn and Ken Lazee)
(Full
Bio)
Imagine what happens when
house music meets the
ghetto…. the thick vibe of
four-on-the-floor beats in
their dirtiest form.
Underground sounds that are
infamous for making people
dance. Music that inspires
you to don your beer goggles
and forget what your
friend’s say.
Matt
Sanborn and Ken Lazee are
vagrants from our Nation’s
Capital who despite being
deaf and technically
mentally disabled, have made
a name for themselves as
dj’s who rock dance floors
while spinning for: food,
beer, or clean underwear.
